Sun Devil Softball Sweeps U of A

Your Sun Devil Softball swept the Arizona Wildcats over the weekend! This marks the 11th time in program history the Sun Devils have swept the Wildcats, earning one point for the school in the 2012 State Farm Territorial Cup Series. On Sunday, Hillary Bach picked up the win for Arizona State, improving her record to 14-0 overall and a 0.85 ERA. Bach is now third all-time in Sun Devil Softball history with 80 career wins. The Sun Devils hit the road for its first ever Pac-12 road game as it travels to Oregon on March 30th.

The 14th-ranked Sun Devil Baseball team will face No. 13 Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday and Wednesday night at Packard Stadium before traveling to Oregon to take on the No. 23 Ducks in a three-game series over the weekend. You can listen to all five games on KDUS The Fan Am 1060 or get live, up-to-the-minute stats online with gametracker. Both Tuesday and Wednesday’s games at Packard Stadium will be webcast live on FoxSportsAz.com.

Head Coach Todd Graham and Sun Devil Football return to practice this week. All practices are open to the public, but in case you are not able to attend, we are offering a webcast following each practice. Links to the webcasts for each day are provided below. You can also access them through our website at thesundevils.comby clicking on the “All-Access” link. The webcasts will be available approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of practice. The 15-practice spring session concludes on April 21st with the Spring Game. The Spring Game will be held in Sun Devil Stadium beginning at 1 PM and is FREE to the public.

Sophomore pole vaulter Derick Hinch became just the second Sun Devil in school history to clear the 18-foot mark with his clearance of 5.50m (18-00.50). Hinch is now second in Sun Devil Track and Field history with the jump, behind only Olympic gold medalist Nick Hysong.

Sun Devil Gymnastics finished in sixth place at the 2012 Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships with a score of 194.550, its highest finish since 2009. Senior Beaté Jones took eighth in the All-Around competition.

Your Sun Devil Tennis team earned two wins on the weekend defeating Pac-12 opponents Oregon and Washington 5-2 each. Senior Michelle Brycki and sophomore Jacqueline Cako swept their opponents.
