It’s Rivalry Week! We host Arizona this Saturday, November 19 at 7:30 pm for the State Farm Territorial Cup. Last year’s edition of the Territorial Cup was an instant classic, as we topped the Wildcats 30-29 in double overtime. We ask that you join the team in wearing all black for the Black Out! Be There. Be Loud. Wear BLACK!
Men’s Basketball won their opener against Montana State 78-72 last Friday. Returning All-Pac-10 Second-Teamer Trent Lockett recorded his second career double-double to lead the Sun Devils over the Bobcats. Keala King added a career-high 16 points. The team plays Pepperdine tonight and will host New Mexico on Friday at 6:30 pm for James Harden Beard Night. Make sure to grow out your facial hair or create a beard (here’s a handy template) to don for the game against the Lobos!
Opening their 2011-12 campaign with wins over UC- Riverside and Colorado State, Sun Devil Women’s basketball will face Boston College this Sunday, November 20 at 2 pm. They will be debuting their black uniforms and are asking fans to wear black to the game.
Congrats to the Sun Devil Women’s swimming and diving team on beating Pac-12 foe UCLA for the first time since 2001! Highlighted by Cassie Morrice’s new school record in the 1000 freestyle, the team topped the Bruins 164.5-134.5.
After helping their team earn a weekend sweep over Colorado and Utah, Sun Devil volleyball players Stephanie Preach and Nora Tuioti-Mariner were named Pac-12 Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively. The team heads to Los Angeles this weekend to take on No. 1 USC and No. 2 UCLA.
