How great was Saturday’s win?! After 11 years, it felt incredible to finally beat USC, especially in the fashion we did! From Cameron Marshall’s 70-yard touchdown run to start things off to Shelly Lyon’s pick-6 that put the nail in the coffin, Saturday night was a night to remember and cherish. After our win on Saturday, the AP poll has us at 25.
Shelly Lyons was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance that included his first career interception (and first career touchdown) and four tackles. Cameron Marshall, who had three touchdowns in the win over the Trojans, was nominated for FRS Running Back Performance of the Year. Additionally, Jamal Miles has earned his second Paul Hornung Weekly honor of the season and Aaron Pflugrad was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
Oregon State is on tap this weekend. While the Beavers are 0-3 and we lead the all-time series 24-12-1, we have fallen in our last three matchups with Oregon State. We need everyone there, loud and in gold this weekend! Kickoff is at 7:30 pm.
We will be inducting 10 people in our ASU Sports Hall of Fame. The Class of 2011 features Adam Archuleta (Football), Mike Benjamin (Baseball), Lucy Casarez (Softball), Kurt Nimphius (Men’s Basketball), Grace Park (Women’s Golf), Townsend Saunders (Wrestling), Marvel Smith (Football), Stacey Tullock (Soccer), Molly Tuter (Women’s Basketball) and Fernando Vina (Baseball). The inductees will be honored in a ceremony at halftime.
